Japanese Tea Ceremony – Introductory Lesson 

This introductory lesson is designed for first-time participants who wish to experience the essence of the Japanese tea ceremony.

Through the basic movements of temae and the gentle flow of each gesture, you will learn how to prepare and serve matcha while discovering the mindfulness and grace that define the Way of Tea.

The lesson offers a calm and authentic introduction to Japanese culture and tradition.

  • Duration: approx. 1 hour 30 minutes
  • Fee: 70 EUR per person
  • Includes matcha and seasonal sweets

Practice Kit

A basic set of utensils is required for this lesson. Please choose one of the following options:

  • Rental set: +10 EUR
  • Purchase beginner’s kit: 65 EUR (First-time only)

Kit contents: Fukusa case, fukusa (red or vermilion), fan, kaishi (paper sheets), sweet pick (kashiyōji), elastic band, and storage pouch.

What to Wear

Since the class includes sitting in the seiza position, we recommend wearing comfortable clothes.

Please wear clean white socks (preferably tabi, Japanese-style socks) during the lesson, and avoid short skirts or tight-fitting pants.
